Goodbye Wisdom Teeth

Well, they’re gone, and good riddance! Yesterday sucked, though. I’m not sure if it was the remnants of the anesthetic in my system, or the Vicodin I took, but I couldn’t keep anything in my stomach yesterday. I ate twice, and shortly after each time I became very nauseated for about an hour before finally ridding my stomach of its contents. Immediately after emptying my stomach, I felt a lot better, but I gave up trying to eat anything.

Today has been much better so far. I haven’t taken any pain medication since last night, and I’m not in any pain at all. I am thinking that, if anything, I may just take some Tylenol if the pain comes back. I’m not interested in determining if the Vicodin is what caused my nausea, or if it was something else.

Heather took the day off today to stay at home with me, which was very nice of her. She has been taking wonderful care of me these last two days. I have an array of mouth-friendly foods to choose from, including pudding, jello, ice cream, and mashed potatoes. I aso have some “chewing required” food, but I’m too chicken to try that out yet.

At any rate, I’m pleasantly surprised at the lack of pain and swelling. I also have had no soreness or problems with moving my jaw, which seems to afflict most people. In fact, my biggest issue right now is an upset stomach from consuming too much pudding, which was apparently made with real milk, which my stomach does not appreciate. So I guess if that is the biggest of my problems, I should be happy.
